I’ve only just received it and haven’t yet used it but WOW. It looks good quality more spacious than I thought and so comfortable! The fact it comes with the hydraulic system is even better. This is going to be perfect for multiple uses! Can’t wait to use it!

I’m 5’2″ and I really wanted to love this pack but the fit isn’t quite right. I’ve hiked hundreds of miles in this pack now and I’m always tinkering with the straps to try to get the perfect fit. This was my first decent hiking backpack so I thought it was just me.Then I went to REI to get a backpacking pack and had my eyes on the Osprey Aura. I tried it on in-store (in both XS and S sizes) and was miserable. So much pinching in my neck and shoulders regardless of the adjustments I (and the store associate) made. Finally I tried on the Gregory Deva and it was a totally different experience. I got it to fit correctly within a few seconds and didn’t have to adjust it as I walked around the store.I’ve since read on forums that most short women have trouble getting Ospreys to fit correctly – and Gregory packs or Mariposa by Gossamer Gear are recommended.That being said – if you’re NOT quite as short – I think this is a pretty nice pack. It is durable spacious and easy to organize. I don’t love that I can’t reach the water bottle pockets when I’m wearing the pack – on a day hike I might not always have a partner with me and I don’t want to take my pack off very often. However it does come with a 2.5 liter water bladder so I’m generally using the side pockets for bug spray and my Stand2Pee (in a drawstring bag). Still I don’t want to take my pack off to reach those either.The hip belt pockets are also small (fits my regular sized iPhone 6s BARELY) and challenging to get in and out of while wearing the pack – but not impossible. They’re also not waterproof – so don’t store your phone there if there’s a chance it will get wet. I do love the Osprey water bladders – so much easier to open/close without leakage than my old Camelbak. I also love the attached rain cover – super convenient.Bottom line: If you’re short or if you’d like to be able to reach things in your pack while wearing it without the help of a partner – maybe look elsewhere. If you’re less short and don’t hike alone this might be a great pack for you.

I told my friend “If I could marry a backpack I would marry this one.” I took it for a ten day international trip plus my carry on and it was able to fit the majority of my items. The frame felt perfect for my waist and I loved being able to carry some water on long day trips. This bag expanded when needed and had all the pockets I could ever need. Great for hiking as well. My only complaint is one I saw before which is that the side pockets located on the harness on the hips is too far back for easy access. Otherwise this is a great backpack and I’d recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been looking for the perfect pack to take out hiking with my kids. I loved this one. Great storage and pockets/compartments are wonderful. My only issue is it felt way too bulky on my petite frame. I’m 5’2’’ 115 pounds and it overwhelmed me. Otherwise wonderful backpack!
