Lilbutt5.0: I think the Rambler is the perfect compromise between the Minichamp and Classic SD.The Minichamp to me has a number of superfluous tools (you need an orange peeler?!) and the SD lacks the bottle opener/Phillips screwdriver tool.In addition the Minichap is a little chunky for a key chain or thin trousers (suits etc).The size and reassuring red celidor scales (a cultural icon) make this pretty sheeple proof.As pointed out by another reviewer the slight increase in depth makes the tool a little more comfortable than the SD.The Rambler is not so easy to find as the SD or Minichamp and looks a little pricey compared to SD (often very close in price to the Minichamp) – but is worth every penny and will last a lifetime.After years of being obsessed with SAKs with loads of tools I have finally seen the light and realised less is often more. My two current favourite Victorinox models are the Rambler and the Compact – near perfect combination of most useful tools and overall size.
MR G.5.0: I put this on my keys and when I found how useful it was I ordered a bunch for little Christmas gifts for friends and family. I lost my original after a year or so and it was still in great shape and had to order a replacement and it’s safely on my keys again
Jason. 5.0: The rambler is all you need as a back up.10mm thick is fine.Only complaint is that the knife arrived without the box. Just in a jiffy bag /letter. Not very happy with that.
Mr C4.0: This diminutive pocket knife and multi-tool is really small enough to take anywhere and has enough functions to cope with many small repairs and challenges. It’s not as good as the Wenger version used to be because that included a really useful awl but since taking over Wenger Victorinox has rationalised and this is the outcome.
Nitsan Simantov5.0: Super tiny. Not noticeable in the pocket. I keep it in the little change pocket in my jeans together with a tiny rechargable torch from Nitecore and sometimes a leatherman Style PS a house key etc. Very tiny things.Very useful tools.Quality feels superb. Really nice and smooth.
