I was given this purposeful looking tool as a birthday gift by my partner just under four years ago along with a set of screwdriver bits for it. I immediately lost it and was both gutted and in the doghouse.Whilst decorating the back bedroom last month I was overjoyed to find it behind a wardrobe so started using it.All was well until I attempted to cut a piece of 2 mm thick coat hanger wire the pliers snapped off at the jaw hinge.My eighteen year old leatherman wave made light work of the same wire.I realise that I am still covered by its 25 yr guarantee but due the recent corvid 19 pandemic Leatherman are still offering to sell you tools but have suspended the replacement service until further notice.Having read other peoples reviews I see I am not the only purchaser experiencing the same problem with this model.

Seems to be solidly made. I didn’t want a massive multitool with a bazillion attachments – I keep one of those in my bike saddlebag.I just wanted a set of pliers a knife and a screwdriver because let’s face it that’s all you ever really use. A set of hex keys is just too bulky for my day to day pocket. It seems solid enough though the pliers are never going to take the sort of punishment a main toolbox set of pliers will take. Using them as a wrench would be asking for trouble. The wire cutters work just fine at both cutting and stripping small insulated cables of the sort I’m likely to ever use it for. The main thing I’m likely to do of a negative nature is fumble a screwdriver attachment and drop it in an engine or something. When changing over from posidrive to flat head you do have to handle a fiddly piece and slot it into the holder. The screwdriver works and gives a reasonable amount of torque. The bottle opener works perfectly.The blade is sharp and locks out solidly. It’s not going to be used for butchering an elk but for most likely uses like cutting string or opening packages or slicing cable ties this will do the job.It’s small and light and doesn’t encumber your pocket. Being in a pouch increases the likelihood that l the police will accept it’s a tool and not an intended weapon. This will stop me having to go to my toolbox for basic jobs just fine. I think a lot of people have way too high an expectation of what a pocket tool will do.I would avoid this tool if you wanted a tool that has loads of tools on it because this is not it. If you want a tool that is small and light and grips screws cuts and opens bottles this is for you.

A high quality Leatherman tool. The build quality and detailing are excellent. The tool is compact and lightweight and has a belt clip and carabiner type attachment which means it can be carried securely without the case if desired. The range of features/blades is a bit more limited than on other full-size multi-tools however many of those other features seem to be rarely used in my experience – e.g. hole punch toothpick & screwdriver bits that are too short to really reach anything.The main blade is around 6cm in length can be opened one-handed and locks securely in position. The jaws on the pliers are slim which helps with getting into awkward areas but will ultimately limit the amount of force that you can apply. The interchangeable screwdriver bits are a nice idea – the only downside being that additional bits must be purchased separately. There is also an extension available for the screwdriver bits – again at additional cost.

Bought on a whim on a daily deal this is much heavy and bulky than my previous Leatherman multi tools but still manages to pack it the basics including a useful screwdriver. In terms of heft and what you can do with it it would sit somewhere between the Style micro tools and the full size stuff like the Super 300 tools.This would be ideal for camping especially backpacking as the lightweight tools are enough for light duties. You can cut tighten and unscrew things which don’t need you to apply lots of force. I don’t think this would survive the battering you can dish out to a Supertool 300 but that’s not the point.

I work as an IT systems administrator/ Server Engineer this tool is always with me everything i need is in that small pouch. This is the first tool I found that not only looks amazing but is comfortable to use. A lot of my usage is light computer reapir stuff use the knife for unboxing allen keys for dismantling desks.Recently moved not a new house the knife cut through rolls of old carpet like butter pliers aren’t amazing but adequate at elextrical work and pulling nails.I have comfortably used this all day assembling Ikea furniture. I have lost 2 of these this is my third skeletool well worth the money.Don’t overlook Leatherman’s 25 year warranty
